#NewIndianWoman #podcast discussion with #tamilwriter #salma
How often do you get to hear from a woman on freedom and women's empowerment in practical terms, based on her own struggles and having met and interacted with thousands of women. And what if she is uneducated(from a conventional sense of what education is perceived as) and coming from a disadvantaged background - how often would you be ready to listen to her words without any bias ? If you have come here and are keen to know whom we are talking about, click here to read(and listen to) my previous article.
In Part 2, Salma, the famous writer, poet, activist and politician, talks exactly about these topics. She starts off with specifics on what woman chooses to wear and her role in the kitchen.
We continue to talk about education as the pillar and move on to qualities a woman should nurture in her. She cites examples which one can relate to, and asks us to think about these scenarios and similar ones in our own lives. Would you dare to guess what is the top most quality she suggests for an empowered woman ?
And then, we start talking about topics close to her heart - about books, authors she recommends and where one can start off. She also mentions about her mentors and their role in her life.
Her messages to women in their twenties, thirties and fifties, is really touching and very relevant.
I welcome you to listen to this episode(in Tamil) and share your feedback.
