#NewIndianWoman #podcast discussion on #helpingothers #findingtime
If you go by the title of this post, you may wonder, "So what ? Don’t all of us help others?" Yes, all of us do in some way or the other. But there are some people who do something more. And Anuradha Sridharan is one such woman who is featured in the New Indian Woman podcast.
We know a lot of women who life path and thoughts change a lot after they become a mother. In Anuradha's case, she decided to not focus on herself, her child and her family, but decided to share the research she did and her learnings, for the benefit of others. And here again, she did not stop at taking a very strong stand and publishing articles in her blog based on research. She started conducting a lot of workshops and online sessions taking time out from her role as a software professional and mom, among many other roles.
She shares how she started looking at life style diseases and tried to understand health, with food as one of the important factors, not the only factor. She talks about all of the other factors and how many of these factors are taken for granted.
From sleep, to exposure to sunlight, to physical movement and mental health - she explores each of these layers.
She talks about her careful choice of digital consumption and the thought behind the same.
She shares how her sense of responsibility led her to start talking about packaged food, triggered by food influencers blatantly supporting packaged food and how current generation are dependent on these influencers.
I like her statement, I did what the society expected me to do for 30 years - the rebel in me has woken up.
She also talks about not being interested in how many people she reaches out to and the point being to increase awareness and make people take informed decisions.
She openly shares about how she is not a long term planner but is passionate about being a daily planner!
Apart from sharing how she fits so much into her schedule, her parting thoughts or messages to women is truly something valuable.
